8-11-10  I am guessing there were a lot of beverages consumed this afternoon following our tourney.  I do think the pace of play was affected by today's heat.  My foursome had a fifteen minute slower  pace from front to back nine with no one in front of us.  The heat slowed us down a bit.  Four hours and 15 minutes to fours and 45 minutes was the range for the tourney.  Thanks to those of you who played "ready golf" and let's keep showing improvement.  Several suggestions have been provided for penalizing slow play and I prefer this to be a discussion at our annual meeting.  There are no easy solutions and we need to get agreement, if indeed, we as a group want to do something about it.

The format today was a very competitive format as the A/C flight's top three teams all had the same gross score.  Here are the results:

Next week on August 18, we host El Dorado Country Club at the Hills Course.  We really need to get some more players.  Please sign up.  All of the tourney signups for the rest of this year and the banquet signup is in the SMGA Notebook in the Golf Club.  Just a reminder, we had two no shows this week and one no show last week which were billed for the tourney according to our by-laws.  We were fortunate today to get the two players without partners to combine into a new team.  Please remember to notify me by email on Tuesday or call the Golf Shop by 7:15 AM if you cannot participate.
