7-21-10
Thanks for
the
participation
on a pretty
hot humid
day. We had
21 teams
that
participated
in the Mixed
Play Format
with a
scramble on
Par 3's, a
modified
alternate
shot play on
par 4's, and
a best ball
competition
on par 5's.
Although we
all agree
this format
is not
something we
would do as
a steady
diet, it did
provide a
little spice
and variety
to our
Wednesday
game. We
only used
handicaps to
best assign
teams. Use
of handicap
in this
format is
not computer
friendly and
would add
even more
delay on the
results due
to manual
calculation.
We already
have a delay
of over one
hour between
the first
foursome
finish and
the last
group. I
will send
out and
discuss pace
of play in
another
update.
Congratulations
to the
winners.
Next week we
host
Hurricane
Creek on
July 28 at
the Ranch.
Please sign
up in the
SMGA Binder
located in
the Golf
Shop or
contact
Larry
Robicheaux
to be
added. Our
next SMGA
event is
August 4
which is an
individual
tourney with
100%
Handicap.
The next day
on Thursday,
August 5,
the RLGA is
hosting a
playday with
the guys.
Please sign
up for both
of these
events in
the SMGA
Binder as
well. The
Playday with
the RLGA
will also
have a
buffet to
follow our
play for
$11.
