Another great day of golf was enjoyed by all. There was a little delay at the start due to a couple of golfers missing in action (no-shows). I apologize for the confusion. The weather was comfortable with moderate temperatures.

We had 60 players (39 players from SBR and 21 players from Heritage Ranch) in the field today. The tournament included two formats – Match Play and Team Play. The Match Play was limited to ten 2-man teams (5 teams from each club) in a winner take-all competition. The balance of the field played in the Team Play, 4-man team using 2 low net scores on each hole.

Found – 5 Pecos Mexican coin (someone’s ball marker). If it is yours, I have it. Send me an email and I will return it to you at the next SMGA event.

Next Wednesday’s Tournament

Next week’s tournament will be an Individual Low Net format flighted by handicap. There will be A, B, C, & D flights. Sign up in the Green SMGA binder in the Pro Shop.

Next Interclub Tournament

The next Interclub Tournament will be on Tuesday, July 13, at Frisco Lakes in Frisco. The tournament will have an 8:00 am shotgun start time. The tournament format will be same as today – Match Play (limited to 10 players as 2-man teams from each club), and Team Play (4-man team, ABCD pairings, 2 low net balls on each hole). The cost will be $40 and includes tournament fee, cart rental, and lunch. The deadline for the Tournament sign up is Thursday, July 8, at 5:00 pm. This is a firm deadline requested by Frisco Lakes. Anyone wishing to play will be added to a standby list. Please sign up as soon as possible and mark your format preference (M or T). Let’s support our Interclub efforts. Remember participation in the Interclub Tournaments earns you points toward playing in the Tin Cup Tournament at the end of the year. I will send out a separate email later this week with more details.

Match Play Results:

The Match Play competition was won by SBR SMGA by a 4-1 margin. SBR SMGA won four matches – 9&7, 4&2, 3&1, and 1up. One match was won by Heritage Ranch – 4&3. Match Play is always a lot of fun and sometimes very intense. Both clubs should be congratulated – well done!

The winning SBR SMGA Match Play teams/players were: Each player received $12 in Pro Shop Credit.
