Truly an enjoyable day of golf was had by all. The weather was comfortable and the wind was reasonable.

We had 62 players (40 players from SBR and 22 players from Prestonwood) in the field today. The tournament included two formats – Match Play and Team Play. The Match Play was limited to ten 2-man teams (5 teams from each club) in a winner take-all competition. The balance of the field played in the Team Play, 4-man team using 2 low net scores on each hole.

The Match Play competition between the clubs was energetic while the Team play with players from both clubs was supportive of all players. Great camaraderie!

Next Wednesday’s Tournament

Next week’s tournament will be “Lonely Senior” Scramble. This is a 4-man team event with ABCD pairings. The format will be a 4-man team scramble on handicap holes 1 & 2, ‘A’ player will play handicap holes 3-4-5-6 as the Lonely Senior while the remaining 3 players play a 3-man scramble, ‘B’ player is Lonely Senior on holes 7-8-9-10, ‘C’ player is Lonely Senior on holes 11-12-13-14, and ‘D’ player is Lonely Senior on holes 15-16-17-18. Next Interclub Tournament

The next Interclub Tournament will be on Thursday, April 22, at Heritage Ranch in Fairview (just east of Allen off Stacy Road) with an 8:30 am Shotgun start time (note date and start time). The tournament format will be same as today –Match Play (limited to 10 players as 2-man teams from each club), and Team Play (4-man team, ABCD pairings, 2 low net balls on each hole). The cost will be $35 and includes tournament fee, cart rental, and lunch. The deadline for the Tournament sign up is Monday, April 19. Please sign up as soon as possible and let’s support our Interclub efforts.

Match Play Results:

The Match Play competition was won by Stonebridge Ranch SMGA by a 3-2 margin. Two matches were 3&1, one match was 1up and two matches were 1dn. Four of the matches were decided on their 18^th hole. This was very competitive play by all teams and both clubs should be congratulated – well done!

The winning SBR SMGA Match Play teams/players were: Each player received $13.50 in Pro Shop Credit.
