4-21-10 Gentlemen, It was a really good day for golf and the scores were all very good. Our new format called "Whack and Hack" was a great format for a four man teams. I heard many say, "Play this again." If you remember, this format has been cancelled a number of times during the bad weather this winter. I heard many comments how much this format called for team play. We also did something else we have not done this year. This was a complete random selection of teams. There were no groupings to balance handicaps as close as possible. Even a team without a so-called A player finished second with one shot off the winning score. I will also keep this in mind for the future. Thanks again for stepping up today on your contributions for tips in our "red can" for the staff. We still need to do some catch- up so keep it coming on in. We had two new members today who played with us for the first time - Steve Leven and Jim Angus. Thanks for all who are protecting our course and trying to stay 90 degrees from the cart path to your ball. Just a reminder not to get your carts closer than 45 yards to the green when you are not on the cart path. Here are the results: Hack and Whack Four Man Team Format(Lo Net and Hi net unless Lo Net is birdie or better then the two Lowest net scores recorded): Par = 144 1st Place - A. Epstein, L. Next week is an individual Tourney with 100% Handicap with A, B, C, and D flights. Please sign up in the SMGA Notebook in the Pro Shop. We need a great turnout for our Cinco de Mayo Spring PlayDay with the RLGA on May 5 and sign up for this also in the SMGA book. Following our team match with the ladies we will have a fajita lunch in honor of Cinco de Mayo. The lunch will include chicken or beef fajitas, tea, water, and cookie for $11. Of course you can order Margaritas to go along with the fajitas on your own bill. I bet Stan Chavez orders a pitcher of Margaritas for his table. Hasta la vista, Denny Wiseman |
