Another great tournament was held today.  If you didn’t play, you missed sharing today with your some of your golfing buddies.

Today’s pace of play was good – 4hrs & 30 mins for the last group to finish.  Not bad for a bunch of old guys.  Remember continue playing ready golf and keep up with the foursome in front of you.

It has been brought to my attention that we need to make a special effort to repair ball marks on the greens.  If you hit an iron shot into the front of green and your ball rolls to the back of the green, remember to look for your ball mark in the front section of the green and repair it.  A good practice is to repair your ball mark and at least one or two others.  I always try to look at the green as I walk onto it or around it for ball marks that need repairing.  Sometime around the middle of October, holes 19 thru 27 will be shut down for several months while the greens are replaced.  During this time, we will need to take especially good care of the remaining greens on holes 1 thru 18 as they will be getting more play.

Upcoming Tournaments:

September will be a busy month for tournaments.  The tournament formats are set to provide you an opportunity to get your game in shape for the end of year SMGA Championship Tournament.  Next week’s tournament is a 2-man team Low Net ball, AC / BD flights.  Sept 9^th tournament is ‘Lone Senior’ tournament, 4-man team event.  On Sept 15^th (Tuesday), we have an Interclub Tournament with Eldorado CC at Eldorado (good preparation for the Tin Cup tournament in October).  On Sept 16^th, the tournament format is 4-man team Shamble, followed by an individual Low Net formant for the Sept 23^th tournament.   September is a busy month ending with the 2-day SMGA Championship tournament on Sept 31 (Wednesday) & Oct 1 (Thursday).
