7-8-09  Thank you to the 29 SMGA players who participated in today’s interclub with Eldorado. With Eldorado’s 27 players, we had 56 total players. Good turnout! Hope you had a good time whether you played Match or Team play. Lunch was great (thank you Alan Miller and restaurant staff). Did you enjoy the chicken fried chicken? Thank you Johnny Gray for a great job managing the tournament. Thank you Johnny Williams for your assistance.

Note #1: Be sure to sign up in the Pro Shop for next Wednesday’s tournament. The format: Low net - individual game - ABCD Flights - 100% Hdcp. Larry will get more info out later.

Note #2: Our next Interclub will be at home on July 22nd vs. Heritage Ranch. This will be the last home Interclub this year. As we did today, there will be a Match Team flight and a Team Play flight. Sign up as usual in the Pro Shop. Please designate your preferred format. Someone asked: Why are there so many Interclubs in a row at home? Fall at Stonebridge is a very busy time where our regular Wednesday play is affected. To have an event each week, I tried to schedule away Interclubs in weeks where there were other events happening at Stonebridge. After July 22nd, we will play three away Interclubs on Aug 12 (@ Canyon Creek), Sept 12th (Tues) (@ Eldorado – our greens will be aerated the week before) and October 8th (Thur) (@ Heritage Ranch – Stonebridge closed for Men’s Member-Guest).

Note #3: Pro Shop Certificates: During Interclub play, payouts are given with Pro Shop Certificates. Members have two choices as to how to spend these: First, you can personally keep the certificate and it is valid for one year from date issued. You will need to keep track of the certificate and expiration date as you will not get any reminder. Your second choice is to have the Pro Shop staff deposit the amount into your credit book in which case it must be spent by the end of the year. Your choice. This only applies to Interclubs as all winnings in regular Wednesday play are deposited into your credit book.

Note #4: Tin Cup standings: After today’s Interclub, here are the point leaders: Roger Sachar (25 points), Jon Dell’Antonia (23), Bill Uhlemann (22), Don Holec (21), Tom George (20) and Larry Robicheaux (20). Go to www.smgahills.com and click on Tin Cup to see where you stand. The top point getters along with Match Play flight Champions and SMGA flight champions will be eligible to play in the Tin Cup event on October 26-27.

Now for the results of today’s Interclub. In the match play flight, Stonebridge defeated Eldorado by a score of 67 to 38. Way to go Stonebridge SMGA!
