11-4-09  Oh what a beautiful morning.  Oh what a beautiful day. I've got a wonderful feeling. Everything's going my way. Golf on days like this in North Texas are why we live here.  Thanks for the great turnout and great participation in the closest to the pin contest.  Thanks for the generous tips we collected that are for the Hills Staff at the end of the year.  Although play was slow at 4 hours and 50 minutes for the last groups, it was a grand day for fun and camraderie.  By the way here are today's results for the four man scramble:

                  5 under; 59.7 net; $6 per player

How many noticed that Johnny Gray printed the pace of play progress goals for each hole on the scorecard?  Some groups really tried to do this.  Let me emphasize that we all do better and track how we are doing.  I know we have two groups teeing off some holes and they were waiting on groups.  Ask yourself are you doing your best to keep up?  Honestly, a lot of us can improve in this area.

I would also like to thank our groups for integrity in their play and scoring.  One group probably took an extra step to ensure they played by the rules.  When you are putting in a scramble format, mark your ball after your putt and do not tap it in if the putt did not go into the hole.  Once you tap it in, your team is through for the hole.  No other players can then try to make it.  If the missed putt was within our SMGA rule of 18", you obviously know that putt is good and do not have to putt that one out to be within the rules.  If this is not clear, send me an email or call me.

Next week's format is 2 Man Teams (AC & BD Flights) for one Low Net Ball each hole with 100% Handicap.  Please sign up in the Green SMGA Binder in the Pro Shop.  Do not to forget to tell Johnny Gray and Chris McCord thanks for getting the teams, scorecards and results organized for us each week.  We can speed up our results to you if you will turn your scorecard in the pro shop  before you take your clubs to the car or go into the grille.  Have a great week and see you next Wednesday.
