Well, I never thought that we would be able to complete the round of golf without getting some rain. The weather cooperated with the rain, but added a little wind to make things interesting. Heritage Ranch course was in good condition despite the amount of rain they have had lately. We did play lift-clean-and-place through the green as carts were restricted to the cart paths only. Their greens were great and our putts rolled fast and true. Everyone that participated had a great time – the Heritage Ranch (HR) folks were friendly and very accommodating. We look forward to playing them again next year.

Today’s Interclub was the last interclub for this year. For the 2009 SMGA year, there were 10 Interclub Tournaments scheduled and a total of 9 interclub tournaments were played – only the last interclub at Eldorado CC was cancelled due to course conditions. All in all, I would say that we had a great year. As we begin to develop our interclub tournament schedule for next year, I will be seeking your comments and input on how we can improve – this will be subject of a future email.

We had 10 SMGA players today probably due to the poor weather forecast. Heritage Ranch fielded 26 players. Due to limited number of SMGA players, the Match Play competition was dropped and only Team play was held.

2nd Place Team –

Bill Valerioti (HR) / Gil Lavey (SBR) / John Greer (HR) / Terry Welter (SBR) 126 SCP $15.00 each

3rd Place Team –

Mike Koch (SBR) / Doug Brown (HR) / Larry Leehy (HR) / Larry Robicheaux (SBR) 126 SCP $ 7.50 each
