5-7-08 Gentlemen,

 

First, I would like to thank all the 52 members for playing in today's tourney.  For the most part it was a nice day, except for 2 holes

of light rain.  Second, I would like to apologize to Dave Mehall, Robert Wantland, Jim Deen, Don Lambert and Morris Paulk for a scoring

mix up which resulted in a change of winners.  Dave lost his 2nd place Ranger tickets to Ed Trapp because of my error and the team

which initially was announced as 4th place winners actually ended up in 5th place and out of the money.  The 5th place team retained

their tickets but lost their $9.00 shop credit.  In the future, please do not go out to play your round if you don't understand how to score

your game.  If you are in doubt or have any questions in regards to the game please ask BEFORE you start not after the round is over

and the awards have been handed out and announced.  The Golf Shop Staff and I try to explain the scoring procedure via e-mail prior to

the date of the tourney and with an announcement on the morning of the tourney.  PLEASE when Staff starts to make the anouncement

on the game and other items PLEASE stop talking and pay attention to the announcement.  Shot of the day:  Joe Allan at #15 6' 0".

Thanks to Kim Norman for donating 72 tickets to the Texas Rangers baseball games.  In regards to the tickets, anyone not sticking 

around to collect them today can pick them up at the Golf Shop desk tomorrow.  The following dates are Blocked Out dates and the

tickets will not be able to be used.  May 10,16,17,18 and 31st.  Follow the procedure on the Voucher you received to aquire the tickets.  

If the winners of the tickets cannot use them please please give them away to someone who can.  The available dates are May 9,11,12,13,14

and 30th.  We had 62 members sign up, 9 cancelled, 1 failed to cancel on time, 2 signed up late and were not assigned to a team, 1

signed up on the wrong sheet and 1 called to sign up and his name was not put on the sheet.  Oh well, think about how many Seniors 

are sick and can't play like we do!!!!  DO NOT forget to sign up EARLY for next weeks tourney.  When you sign up don't forget to add your 

AGE as of 5-14-08 on the sheet.  If anyone has any questions as to the games or any rulings, take them up with your SMGA Board not

the Golf Shop Staff.  Now for the winners:
