12-03-08  Boy howdy! It was windy today, but at least it was warm. We had 38 players start the round today. Five players withdrew prior to completing the round. It was almost 6 players as I did not have a good day at all. However, the company was good and we are able to play golf while others have to work. Maybe, we should be thankful for that. The pace of play was good for the conditions. The times were from 3hr-45min to 4hr-30min. Way to good and keep it up.

There were some last minute additions that caused some confusion and difficulty in setting up the groups. Because of a couple of late entries, we had two 5-somes. Not the most desirable arrangement. I have discussed this grouping with Matt and Johnny Gray, and in the future we will limit our groups to four players. If necessary, we will have a group or two with only 3 players. Everyone believes that three 3-somes generally will play faster than two 5-somes. So just bear with us and understand the pressure that our golf shop personnel is working under to accommodate us. If you have any disagreement with the staff, please discuss with me or one of your SMGA officers.

To avoid any last minute confusion, please sign up for the Wednesday tournament in the Green SMGA book no later than 5:00pm on Monday. If in doubt, please contact me by phone or email to insure that you are signed up or to sign up after Monday. Please contact me by 4:30pm on Tuesday if you need assistance. I will send an update to the Hills Golf Shop at 5:00pm on Tuesday. After that time, the Golf Staff may not be able to accommodate any last minute entries. They will always try, and they do try hard, but it may not be possible to please everyone.
