8-1-07 Gentlemen,
Another playday in the books!!! Had a bit of a
scare with a bolt of lighting early in the round. We only had one member with
any
common sense to get off the course. I never seen
it and was oblivious to the danger. A warning to ALL members, If anytime
lightning
is present, get
off the course IMMEDIATELY!!! We can resume our play after the danger has
passed. I believe that course management
will agree with this procedure. Mike Merrill was
the member and John Braun his partner will not be charged for the playday.
Looks like Ken Carithers is back from his slump.
Ken (8) is only one back of John Chapman (9) in the race for CTP
Champion. Ken was
observed laughing and knuckle slapping with Gene
Whalen, Ron Leonard & Al Diaz, the other three CTP winners, in the parking lot
after
the round and award announcements. Hills Course
rumor has it that if Ken catches up to John in the hot contested race he will
be asked
to join their daily group and John will be asked
to leave the group and play with Lavey, Mehall & Maccarthy in
their group. This is only a
rumor and not confirmed but
it's not looking good for John. John you will need to buy a "Ball
Retriever" if you join that group!!! The Shot
of the day belongs to Ron Leonard for his 3' 4"
CTP at #11. A reminder to all members: ALL putts longer than 18" SHALL be
putted out,
14 Club rule is in effect during Wednesday
playdays, a ball may be substituted when you reach the green. Please do not
be offended if
you are asked to follow these and all USGA rules
on the books. We should all be afforded the opportunity to play under the
same rules
and conditions as the full field. When someone
calls you on a rule, that person is protecting the field not just himself.
***A reminder to all members who
haven't participated in 5 Wednesday or Interclub Tournaments for the 2006/2007
year (OCT/SEPT).
Your time is running out. You have 10 Tournaments
left to participat in to be eligible to play in the Club Championships on
