4-25-07 SMGA Members,

First of all I would like to thank Bobby and Chris for their help and patience in dealing with our tournament cards.

Second I would like to apologize for the confusion this morning while we waited to determine our format. Had it

not been for the downpour yesterday we would have had well over 50 players join us today. We had 44 members

come out and play in todays tourney and 43 participated in the CTP contest. Thanks to those members who showed

up when their bodies told them not to (you know who you are). Stan Morrow had the shot of the day on #21 with a

CTP of 2' 6 1/2" Don Holec was a 1st time CTP winner. Gene Whalen is coming on strong and Dave Mehall was

forced to play and ended a 3 week drought. FACT: 46 % of our members have won a CTP contest (42 of 91) Don't

be bashful, join the ranks and contribute!! John Chapman was observed hugging Ken Carithers and whispering in his

ear "Boy am I glad you showed up I needed those $21.00". We have 4 spots left in the "SMGA Senior Match Play

Championships" Monday the 30th is the last day to sign up. Call the Pro-Shop and ask them to sign you up.

Next Wednesday is Interclub at Home against Hurricane Creek, don't forget to sign up. Jerry Obenour will follow up

with more info on the format and other details. Some excuses heard from the members: "My putting lesson was

rained out yesterday" "I'm getting tired walking from the cart path to the fairway" "I have to accept the fact that my

swing speed is decreasing now that I'm over 55" "My shoes aren't tied tightly enough" Now for the winners:
