Thank you for the GREAT turn out !!!  We had 52 members play in today's Tournament which was a great success.  Santa Claus (John Kinney) visited us today and lavished us with gifts (Balls).  We also had a 96% participation in our Closest to the Pin game (50 of 52).  I have been asked by several members to please bring up the issue of slow play. I am going to copy a page from the Ranch Ladies Golf Association Handbook on READY GOLF:  Golf is a four-hour game or less.  It is important to keep up with the group ahead of you, not the group behind you.  PLAY READY GOLF !!  

 

TIPS TO HELP YOU KEEP THE PACE:

 

1.  BE AT YOUR BALL READY TO HIT WHEN IT IS YOUR TURN.

2.  MARK YOUR BALL'S FLIGHT WITH A BACKGROUND OBJECT.

3.  THINK ABOUT WHAT CLUB YOU WANT TO USE BEFORE YOU GET TO YOUR BALL.

4.  TAKE 2 OR 3 CLUBS WITH YOU TO YOUR BALL.

5.  STUDY THE LINE OF YOUR PUTT WHILE OTHERS PREPARE TO PUTT.

6.  IN THE FAIRWAY:  IF TWO PLAYERS ARE ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE FAIRWAY AND THERE ARE NO OBSTRUCTIONS, BOTH PLAYERS MAY            

    HIT AT THE SAME TIME.

7.  ON THE GREEN AND FRINGE AREA:  THE PLAYER FURTHEST FROM THE HOLE HITS FIRST WHETHER ON THE GREEN OR FRINGE.

8.  ON THE TEE BOX:  NO HONORS, WHOEVER IS READY SHOULD HIT.

9.  AS SOON AS YOUR GROUP HAS FINISHED A HOLE, MOVE TO THE NEXT TEE AND RECORD YOUR SCORES THERE.

 

If ALL of us use these tips we will ALL finish in less than 4 hours!!  How about we try it out in 2007.  I don't believe our games will suffer. Enough said.
